Jean-Sebastien Bernard

A filmmaker, he began his career as a television video journalist before developing a highly distinctive body of work, primarily through his production company, Les Films d’Antinéa. There, he directed short films including The Glass Hedgehog (2013 – selected by 43 festivals, including two CNC Category 1 festivals; 6 awards), Phantasms of the Living (2015 – selected by 42 festivals, including two CNC Category 1 festivals; 7 awards), Instructions for an Encounter (2026), The Tears of Patriarchy (2026), and Breakfast in America (currently in post-production).

The Wolf and the Cat, produced by Insolence Productions in co-production with 13Prods, received support from the CNC, France Télévisions, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, PROCIREP, ANGOA, the City of Martigues, and Alcimé. The film was selected for several prestigious CNC Category 1 festivals, including Festival MCM, Off-Courts, and Tous Courts Aix-en-Provence. It is distributed by Manifest.

He continues to cultivate a singular cinematic voice, balancing realism and the fantastic while placing particular emphasis on visual storytelling and mise-en-scène. He is currently developing several feature-length and short film projects, notably in collaboration with Les Autres Films.
